The guitar sits on it instead, so the weight of the guitar is supported from underneath. The end pin rests in a depression keeping it from being bumped off of the stand and the neck is strapped in. These are made from solid wood... black walnut, low to medium flamed, maple, non-fig, maple, cherry, or genuine Mahogany.Please specify the species you prefer when ordering with a message. They have a leather strap and leather Info label and are finished with three coats of pre-catalyzed lacquer. The guitars are not included. These will not work with guitars that do not have an end pin, (strap button). Mounting hardware is included
